Herd of Elephants

For my UFO week, I will be stitching a "Herd of Elephants". I totally forgotten about this chart but when someone mentioned stitching a group of elephants, I vaguely remembered that I had started to stitch this design. I dug it up from the bottom of my stash bin and the photo on the right is what the design will look like when finished. The photo on the left is what I started about 3 years ago. I will post the progress on this as well as put it into my rotation after UFO week is over.

Gift for Mother's Day

I just finished stitching this chicken from Margaret Sherry's Sports & Hobbies in The Britain's No. 1 Cross Stitcher, Issue # 212 for my mother. I thought it would be ideal to stitch this onto a tea towel since she loves to cook. Now off to the store to get a tea towel !!!

"Kokopelli Christmas"

Progress updated. So far, some of the backstitching is done. The challenge is the sky since it is confetti with yellow to represent the stars. I have 3 more kokopellis to stitch, the rest of the chilies and the sky with 3 mini-kokopellis left to stitch.

SanMan Fatties SAL - FINISHED

I finished my 4 Seasons SanMan SAL today. I haven't decided yet how I want to do the finishing so I will put it away into my stitched designs drawer for now. I am leaning toward a lid cover on a tin square box to store some treasures inside.

Going "Green"

Our family's motto is to go "Green" as much as possible. I have 7 May birthdays coming up for our family members. I have been stitching each person's initial with motif according to their interests or personality and stitch onto a bath towel as a birthday wrapping paper. Inside is a gift for that person....... tied with jute string at each ends. This is an example of what I am doing. "A" is for my grandson, Austin. He is into dinosaurs so I stitched a small dinosaur next to his initial. It is hard to see the motif with the light reflecting off of the camera.

SanMan Fatties SAL

Just finished my 3 Fatties. I will get the 4th one on Monday and voila..... it will be done. This is a quick stitch.

special ornament for friend

A group of us are stitching an ornament for a special cross-stitching friend who just had breast cancer surgery. One person made a tree out of dowels and the rest of us made ornaments for her to put on her tree. It was a surprise for her and she received them when she came home from the hospital. The front is the singing bird and the back is the cancer ribbon.
